The Import Product feature serves as an exceptional tool for importing new products, whether from the local or public database. If you choose to import from the local database, it is important to ensure that your data is prepared and gathered in a specific format, which can be accessed conveniently through the "Download Chemical/Labware Template" buttons at the beginning of the process.
On the other hand, importing from the public database proves to be highly beneficial for newcomers to Pregl Digital Cloud, as it offers a time-efficient and convenient method for digitizing your laboratory's inventory. This feature provides an extensive collection of chemicals and laboratory equipment, comprising over one million products. By utilizing this feature, you can effortlessly search through the database and import the desired products into your lab's inventory, eliminating the need for manual entry of product information.
Benefits of using the "Import from Public Database" function in managing lab's inventory:
- Access to over one million products with predefined standards such as CAS, SKU, hazard statements, precautionary statements, and more.
- Time and energy-saving feature that enables users to easily import products into their lab's inventory without manual data entry.
- Particularly useful for large laboratories with extensive inventory, where manual data entry would be time-consuming and prone to errors.
- Helps minimize the number of errors when entering inventory data manually.
- Offers a quick and straightforward import process for items.
To initiate the process of importing products, navigate to the Import Product section and choose one of the two buttons available: "Import Chemical" or "Import Labware." These buttons provide you with the option to upload local documents or import items from an extensive range of products available in the public database. Within the realm of chemicals, you can find various substances such as reagents, solvents, and other substances commonly used in experiments. On the other hand, Labware encompasses equipment like pipettes, flasks, and centrifuges. Press the button corresponding to the desired group from which you intend to import products.

|
Upon proceeding to the next page, you will encounter the Data Import Wizard, which is distinct for chemicals and labware. Within this wizard, you have the opportunity to select your desired import settings and establish expiry/quantity alarms according to your preferences. The process will proceed once all errors have been resolved.
When utilizing the public database to search for a specific product, you can utilize two parameters for efficient results. These parameters include the product name and the SKU number. If you are aware of the name of the chemical or labware item you require, searching by product name can be advantageous. Conversely, if you possess a list of products with corresponding SKU numbers, searching by SKU number can be more expedient.
By checking the box labeled "Search by SKU," you can exclusively locate a product based on its SKU number. This functionality proves particularly useful if you already possess a comprehensive list of products in your laboratory along with their corresponding SKU numbers, and you are working with a substantial database of products.

|
By allowing the import of products from both local and public databases, users can save significant time and effort. The Data Import Wizard further streamlines the process by offering separate options for chemicals and labware, enabling users to customize import settings and set expiry/quantity alarms as needed. The ability to search for products using parameters such as product name and SKU number enhances the efficiency of the search process.
Whether you have a specific product in mind or a list of SKU numbers, Pregl Digital Ecosystem provides the tools to easily find and import products into your lab's inventory, simplifying the overall inventory management experience.
Import fields Guidelines
Below, you will find the definition of all import fields, along with a description and an example for importing chemicals and labware. For fields where a predefined option must be entered, these options are provided in the "Field description" column. The data entry is unique to the chemical and the labware.
The file to be used for import must be saved in UTF-8 encoding (unicode) and in either .csv or .txt format (Semicolon Delimited).
xlsx example file and the .csv example file can be downloaded directly from the Data Import Wizard.
