Routers play a crucial role in connecting devices to the Agitron Ecosystem. The ability to manage them effectively is essential for efficient network management. Users have the ability to add or remove routers on the Pregl Digital Dashboard.
Adding a new router to your user account is a straightforward process that can be completed in several ways, depending on your preferences and the tools available. The whole process can be done through the Agitron Pregl Dashboard. Use Router Wizard to guide you through the steps required to register and connect your new router to the Agitron infrastructure. If you want more informations about adding a new router, see the instructions below.
Deleting a router is possible when it does not contain any sub-elements (devices). Deleting and editing the configuration of a router is enabled exclusively in the Agitron Connect web interface.
Adding a new router
Whether you want to add a new router to your user account, click on the "Add Router" button. You will be taken to a "Wizard" that guides you through the process of registering a new router. A successful registration requires an internet connection (see the router documentation for the specifications needed to set up the firewall) to connect the router to the Agitron infrastructure (Private or Public Cloud). The options available for registration depend on the router model.
Router Wizard will take you through three simple steps:
1. SELECT LOCATION
The first step in the Router Wizard is to select the location where the router will be installed. This step involves entering a name for the router and selecting the appropriate location from a list of available options. This information is crucial for efficient network management, as it enables you to quickly identify the physical location of the router and its associated devices.
2. BIND ROUTER
Pressing the "Next" button will successfully add the router to the list. To complete the process, insert the given device token on the router that you want to bind. This step ensures that the router is properly registered with the Agitron infrastructure and is ready to start communicating with other devices on the network. As you complete this step, press the button "Next".
3. CONNECT ROUTER
After successfully binding the router to your user account, all that remains is to await the connection of a new router to the agitron infrastructure. Once this step is complete, the router is ready to use.
By following the simple steps outlined in the wizard, you can ensure that your new router is properly registered and connected to the network.
Router details
On the Pregl Digital Dashboard, users can access all of the vital data and configurations related to their router. By having easy access to this information and these settings, users can effectively manage their router and ensure that it is providing them with the best possible connectivity experience.
Router card displays following informations:
- UUID - Router's serial number which is also visible in the network.
- IP Adress - Current IP assigned to the router.
- Connection - router's connection status, displayed through a color-coded indicator. When the router is functioning correctly and is reachable, the status indicator will be green. On the other hand, if the router is unreachable, the status indicator will turn red.
- Memory used - Current memory usage, yellow area starts at 75%, red area starts at 90%, red area means the system will slow down due to load. If the situation does not stabilize within a few hours contact support.
- CPU Load - Current load, yellow area starts at 75%, red area at 90%, red area means the system will slow down due to load. If the situation does not stabilise within a few hours contact support.
- CPU Temp - Current temperature, yellow area starts at 70°C, red area starts at 80°C, red area means the system will slow down due to overheating. If the situation does not stabilise within a few hours check the fan operation or lower the room temperature (see router documentation).
- Router name - Registered router name
- Device location - The three-way bound location of the router.
- Device token for router binding - A unique identifier that is used to bind a router to a user account. This string of characters serves as a security measure, ensuring that only authorized users are able to access and manage the router.
