The Settings section primarily serves the purpose of managing stock inventory items within the Pregl system, encompassing two distinct levels:
-
Labware in the database (main level): This refers to a parent labware that has been incorporated into the database but does not appear on the stock list.
-
Physical labware (stock item): This signifies a child labware derived from the parent chemical within the database. The physical chemical is created from the parent labware and also visible on the stock list within the stock section in the Pregl Digital App and Pregl Digital Dashboard.
First, you must activate the stock item at the main level. Once this step is completed, you can proceed to add a physical item to the laboratory, which will then be accessible from the stock list. Consequently, you will need to carefully follow the steps outlined below.
Create Labware (add main level labware)
To initiate the manual addition of stock items, the initial step involves activating a chemical at the main level. This can be accomplished by clicking on the "Create Labware" button found in the settings. This action initiates the main "Create Labware" three-step wizard, which guides you through the process of adding a labware to your inventory.
"Create Labware" Wizard:
1. Basic Specifications: In the initial step, you are prompted to provide essential labware information. This includes standard data such as the name, description, catalog number, SKU (Stock Keeping Unit), packing volume, and packing unit. Please note that all mandatory input fields are marked with an asterisk (*), ensuring that critical details are not overlooked.
2. Certificates & Data Sheet: The second and final step of the process allows for optional additions to your chemical entry. You have the opportunity to attach Safety Data Sheets (SDS) or any other relevant documents, further enhancing the comprehensiveness of your chemical database. This step is particularly valuable for maintaining a well-documented inventory, which is essential for regulatory compliance and safety assurance.
Following this step, you'll encounter two distinct options, each represented by a dedicated button:
-
"Save": Choosing this option will result in the chemical being added to the database but not included in your stock inventory. You can add it to your stock later, as detailed in the "Add Labware (add physical stock)" section down below.
-
"Save & Add to Stock": choosing this option will ensure that the chemical is not only added to the database as a parent labware but also integrated into your physical stock inventory as a child labware. This option streamlines the process by immediately adding physical labware to the system.
Add Labware (add physical labware)
Once labware has been successfully created at the main level and added to the database, you can proceed to add a physical labware that will be visible on the stock list within the stock section.
To initiate this process, simply click on the "Add Labware Stock" button located at the top of the screen. This action will open a list containing all the labware that has been added to the database. You can easily locate the specific labware you wish to add to your stock by using the provided filter for efficient search functionality.
Once you've identified the labware, click on it to access and edit its detailed specifications. Keep in mind that certain physical data fields are marked with an asterisk (*), indicating that they are mandatory for this particular labware. It's crucial to provide these essential details to maintain accurate and comprehensive records.
Upon saving the edited labware entry, it will now be readily accessible in the stock section. You also have the option to add the labware to your storage, ensuring that it is correctly placed and accounted for within your inventory.
Attention: For added convenience and efficiency, consider using the Smart Sticker code scanning feature. This feature allows you to expedite the process by scanning the code of a physical labware with ease, accessible via the icon located on the right within the input field. This not only streamlines data entry but also enhances accuracy, making the management of your labware inventory more efficient.
Edit Labware
Within the "Edit Labware" section, you have the capability to search for and modify data for all the labware present in the database, particularly focusing on main level labware attributes. This centralized function empowers you to maintain accurate and up-to-date information, ensuring your labware records are comprehensive and dependable.
Attention: when you need to make adjustments to the data pertaining to physical labware, you must navigate to the stock section and specifically select the physical labware you intend to edit.
